French Kiwi Juice

My latest discovery; FKJ is a French based producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist specialising in electronic music of a different standard. Upon first listen the sound screams purity whilst encompassing layers only appreciated after several plays – it’s a rarity to find an artist able to display such talent within a tightly packed album. FKJ’s self-named album ‘French Kiwi Juice’ saw its release at the beginning of the year comprising of 12 refined tracks all mixing provoking electronic beats with an almost jazz-edge drenched in style.
Whilst FKJ keeps a continuous electronic sound throughout we’re treat to a few tracks which hold a punchier electronic beat serving as a taste of his capabilities outside of the album. ‘Skyline’ and ‘Better Give You Up’ are seamless examples of how smooth the instrumentation is whilst playing around with sounds designed to prompt intimate listening whilst simultaneously oozing chilled vibes.
In comparison, I can see similar sounds to Jungle’s 2014 self-named album ‘Jungle’ – tracks such as ‘Drops’ reflect the smooth electronic sounds showcased within multiple tracks on ‘French Kiwi Juice’. I feel this album is currently singular in its whole sound, whilst holding slight parallels to ‘Jungle’, FKJ is careful to explore his own abilities slightly differently within every track crediting him as not only an artist but a producer as well.
FKJ spoils us with an album suited for summer. 12 tracks and 47 blessed minutes.
