On Saturday I had the pleasure of heading down to Doncaster’s The Leopard to watch The Brookes perform alongside other bands. I have been to so many gigs where the support acts have never caught my eye (or ears) however I did stumble across a lovely two-piece deriving from Chester.

Sustinere is made up of long-term friends; Mike on the drums and Rob on vocals/lead guitar. This duo sport indie-rock vibes generating an impressive volume of noise for just two people – definite post-punk joy division style sound with influences from the likes of Drenge and Royal Blood in terms of technique.

Check these lovely guys out if you get a chance – their next gig is an EP launch on 9th February at Telford’s Warehouse in Chester – get yourselves there and don’t be shy.
